As the producer of these videos, I had the pleasure of speaking to and getting to know each one of these individuals and their families. This project really tugged at my heart strings and made me sit back and think about how much goes into the profession of law enforcement. The sacrifices that are made and the unfortunate end results that have been met by many brave men and women is so sad. I support the PBF’s venture and hope that this project raises awareness for their cause. Thanks to all that have been involved.
Well it just so happens that I do know John Taylor. He is my co-worker. To be honest we were not really close friends prior to his attempted murder. On the day he was shot, my life changed forever. I was furious at the person who had done this to him. He’s my brother in blue. I knew that I had to do something for John. I had recently began to run to get back into shape, and I knew that John was an avid runner, so naturally I thought of doing a “run” in John”s honor to benefit him. I along with a few of John’s friends organized the “John Taylor Recovery Run” to benefit John. John is such a wonderful person that he wouldn’t even keep the money raised on his behalf, in turn donating it back to the PBF to make sure it was used for officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice. He is so selfless. I currently enjoy running with John and we finished a half marathon on November the 6th, 2011 almost a year to the date that he was shot. It was John’s anniversary run. I too, like you wish people “KNEW” John Taylor.
Do you have any information on deceased Officer Allen Brad Rogers of Atlanta PD? He was killed in the line of duty on 7/24/2000, after serving just one month on thejob.
